Durham Probe Indicting Christopher Steele for Knowingly Using Russian Disinformation After Plea Deal

Steele admitted in the interview the Russians may have played him and fed him disinformation, though he claimed it was unlikely. Horowitz said Steele’s main source, Igor Danchenko, “contradicted the allegations of a ‘well-developed conspiracy’ in” Steele’s dossier.

Christopher Steele admitted under oath in March that he had no records of his conversations with the primary sub-source for his infamous dossier, contradicting public claims made by his lawyers in December and sowing further doubts amid allegations that Steele relied on Russian disinformation.
