Bed Bath & Beyond Joins Fascist Crusade

It continues to astonish.

Left-wingers running major American companies are targeting their own customers in a fascist-style anti-Trump crusade. The objective: to intimidate and silence conservatives.

The other day it was Loews hotels. Run by the Democratic/leftist Tisch family, the company ostentatiously announced it would cancel a fundraiser for Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley at its Orlando hotel. This because the Tisches were incensed that Hawley had the nerve to stand on the Senate floor and defend election integrity and the Constitution.

Now it is, of all places, Bed Bath & Beyond that has launched an attack on its pro-Trump customers. The company has ostentatiously decided to stop carrying MyPillow products because they have it in for MyPillow founder and quite visible Trump supporter Mike Lindell.

And unsurprisingly, cross-match the corporate governing officers of Bed Bath & Beyond with Federal Election Commission (FEC) records and, lo and behold, one finds … yes indeed … a far-left Trump-hater in a senior position at the company.

That would be Harriet Edelman. Ms. Edelman is listed as a special adviser to the chairman of Emigrant Bank who is the “independent chair” of the Bed Bath & Beyond board of directors. And sure enough, over there at the FEC she is listed as a 12-time contributor to everything from the Trump-hating Lincoln Project ($1000 and $500) to Biden for President ($2800 and $500) to Democrat senators Doug Jones of Alabama and Ohio’s Sherrod Brown.

In other words, the company that has punished its Trump-supporting customers by pulling its MyPillow merchandise has as its “independent chair” someone who is, per her record of contributions, a staunch leftist and Trump-hater.

As someone who has been both a strong Trump supporter and a repeated customer of Bed Bath & Beyond (I’ve bought two MyPillows there along with plenty of other stuff that has no connection to MyPillow), I cannot understand for the life of me why my politics and the politics of the zillion other Bed Bath & Beyond customers is the business of Bed Bath & Beyond. I haven’t been going there to talk politics but to buy whatever — drapes, bath mats, kitchen clocks, utensils, and more.

But by ostentatiously dropping MyPillow products because of Mike Lindell’s support for Trump, Bed Bath & Beyond is making it plain to its Trump-supporting customers that they are not welcome.

What Bed Bath & Beyond is doing, as with the Loews case and others, is joining the rising fascist crusade to silence conservatives. Thus far this includes demands to take Fox, Newsmax, and OAN off of cable carriers, demands by over 250 authors, editors, and publishers to have no one publish books by Trump administration officials, and Harvard kicking a United States congresswoman and Harvard grad off the board of a policy advisory committee. This doesn’t even touch Twitter, Facebook, Apple, and Amazon attacking the conservative Parler or taking down the accounts of everyone from the former president to average conservatives.

This is dangerous stuff. Orwellian stuff.

And now Bed Bath & Beyond — and, oh yes, Kohl’s, has joined in the furies — has signed on to a fascist crusade to attack, intimidate, and silence their own customers.

Again. Message received.

What a disgrace.
