
The International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) has recently published a special edition release, Evolutions in Counter-Terrorism. This special edition is separated into two volumes featuring a variety of publications that explore the past and present in counter-terrorism research. Volume I: Reflections from the Last Decade presents five counter-terrorism publications selected from the last ten years that were “particularly impactful or otherwise memorable” to the former directors at ICCT:

- The Foreign Fighters Phenomenon in the European Union: Profiles, Threats and Policies
- The Turner Legacy: The Storied Origins and Enduring Impact of White Nationalism’s Deadly Bible
- The Practitioner’s Guide to the Galaxy – A Comparison of Risk Assessment Tools for Violent Extremism
- Re-Offending by Released Terrorist Prisoners: Separating Hype from Reality
In Volume II: Contemporary Developments, ICCT has chosen five current publications that demonstrate “valuable insights into some of the most unique and challenging issues in the field of counter-terrorism as faced by practitioners and researchers alike.”

- The Islamic State’s Global Insurgency and its Counterstrategy Implications
- Funding in Place: Local Financing Trends Behind Today’s Global Terrorist Threat
- Community and Gender in Counter-Terrorism Policy: Challenges and Opportunities for Transferability Across the Evolving Threat Landscape
- Normalisation, Party Politics and Vigilantism: Why the Next Terrorist Wave will not be Right-Wing Extremist
