Fox Business Parts Ways With Trish Regan

Trish Regan will part ways with Fox Business, coming days after she had dismissed concerns about the CCP virus, according to a statement from the network.

“We thank her for her contributions to the network over the years and wish her continued success in her future endeavors,” the network told news outlets on Friday. “We will continue our reduced live primetime schedule for the foreseeable future in an effort to allocate staff resources to continuous breaking news coverage on the coronavirus crisis.”

Regan’s show, “Trish Regan Primetime,” aired at 9 p.m. on Fox Business through March 13. Initially, the network said that the show was placed on hiatus due to the “demands of the evolving pandemic crisis coverage” and it is “deploying all resources from both shows for staffing needs during critical market hours.”

“I have enjoyed my time at FOX and now intend to focus on my family during these troubled times,” Regan said in her own statement on Friday to news outlets. “I am grateful to my incredible team at FOX Business and for the many opportunities the network has provided me. I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my career.”

Earlier in March, Regan made what many deemed was a controversial comment about Democrats and the “liberal media,” saying the two were trying to use the CCP virus pandemic for ammunition against President Donald Trump. The Epoch Times refers to the novel coronavirus, which causes the disease COVID-19, as the CCP virus because the Chinese Communist Party’s coverup and mismanagement allowed the virus to spread throughout China before it was transmitted worldwide.

“We’ve reached a tipping point. The chorus of hate being leveled at [Trump] is nearing a crescendo” as Democrats blame him for the epidemic, she wrote on Twitter March 10. The criticism was “yet another attempt to impeach THE PRESIDENT” over the virus, she said.

Fox Business, a subsidiary of Fox News, did not say that she left the network over her comments. Regan also didn’t elaborate on why she is leaving.

Fox Business has since replaced her show with general-interest programming.
